Just my opinion of course, but that stock oil tank just ain't real pretty, almost looks like they built the bike and then realized "oh **** we forgot the oil tank" and then just found a place to hang it .
Just wondering if anyone has,or has seen an alternative to the stock oil tank set up ?
I have an extra oil bag....I was thinking about welding small pipe caps all over it so it'd look like warts !!!! or zits, or something....but probably won't think I may be trying to make the proverbial "silk purse" out of a "pigs ear".........anyone modified a stock tank ?

This sight is side tracking me, I need to get back to work/sanding on my fairing project,(which is not nearly as intense as Lon's project) which is NOT green apparently.
Well temps are creeping up and I need to be out riding, you guys stay safe out there...Duncan.

Haven't thought about the oil bag,
but now that you mention it.
I think I've got an old harley tank or two hangin' around,
might see what I can come up with too.

I briefly thought about putting fins on the rear side of the oil tank and painting it to look sort of like a bomb, or missile..

If you think the tank is ugly, have you seen it off?
I don't think this engine was EVER designed originally to be anywhere but under the hood of a car, not the most attractive design in the world for sure. I agree that the tank could stand to be better integrated into the bike, but where it's located covers alot of ugly.

Hadn't given oil tank any thought but if your running triple K&N's it should be possible to put something in place of the air box.

oil bag

if you think of getting rid of it let me know I want to buy used and cheap
