was working on putting my replacing my heated grip on the right today and broke the dam thing that holds one of the throttle cables so i reckon will try tuesday to see if i can get another one under warrenty again:eek:

Mine broke on the road and I ended up in the front seat of a tow truck. Since I've heard of several others breaking as well, the replacement remains on a shelf. I now have a single heated grip.

What's the deal with the broken heated grips on the touring models.

I've got heated grips on my 05 standard and I've had zero problems. I have had the bike over 3 years and the grips were well worn when I got it. Could it be an adjustment issue ? My throttle has a little bit of slack in the cables so there isn't any tension on the cables when not in use.

I believe its just a poor design. I haven't looked at the difference between the heated and non heated grip in the area holding the cable but I won't install another one. Too many failures and its one that leaves you stranded.

gpmaz if u not gonna put another one on would u be willing to sell the one u have on the shelf

If I was sure I was going to keep the bike for a long time I'd sell it to ya. But, I'm not so sure, and I suspect anyone I'd sell it to would want both grips to be heated.
