Are the coils considered coil on plug (2011 roadster) I know it has 3 coils and 6 plugs. My shop manual doesn't specify or give me a good enough picture to figure it out. Thanks.

grumpy,
could you make what you want to know,
a little clearer please.
I've never heard of a coil-plug,
so i'm at a loss as to how to answer,
or what you want to know.

An "on plug coil" is when the coil is directly on top of the the spark plug, usually one coil per plug. This setup is common on modern Japanese cars. If you can see the coil pack directly on top of the plug it is a on plug coil.

+1
What prompted that question by the way? Just curious.

If you are referring to the automotive practice of putting a coil at the plug (vice a single coil for all plugs), the answer is no. There are three coils under the right side frame. Each coil has two leads to two plugs on one cylinder. They are basically the same coils used for the Bonneville twins.

And just to be complete:
"The last Mohican was NOT called Rusty." (My stupid answer)
