Like a few others on here I was experience starter difficulty especially in very warm weather after idleing in traffic etc. The symptom was I would hit the starter button and the starter would click but not turn the motor. After a few tries it would take. I replaced all the obviouse things ,relays, connections etc but without success.
I was sitting in my shop just looking at the starter and its location very near the cat box. That cat box produces a great deal of heat that is absorbed by the starter itself. Startesr historically do not function well when they overheat. So I wrapped the starter in insulating header wrap and lo and behold problem gone.
If this is your problem as well remains to be seen, but thought I would share my findings with you....
