Sometimes I ride with a guy that has an 883 sportster. I don't rub his nose in it all the time, but I can't help running off and leaving him some. He is getting a 1200 kit put in and also a screaming eagle air filter. I suspect his plan is to be able to run with the rocket. I still won't have any problem with him I don't think. will follow up with results. Mine is stock except for tors and tors tune.
He doesn't say but I think he is paying a fortune for that 1200 kit install.
 
I do the same thing with a mate and his 1200 Vulcan
 
had a little 883 was a nice in town machine. on the hwy it ran 65 mph @ 3000. and vibrated your as$ numb in about 80 miles.
that's why i have the rocket.

Once he's spent all the money and finished polishing his air cleaner, consistently suggest rides that are that little bit further than he can go on a tank.
 
No chance, there is no way he can ever touch a Rocket.
Maybe if he would install an additional blower on top of the 1200 kit.
But even that would barely make him equal, and for that money he could just buy a Rocket and put it in his garage next to the Sportster.
 
The fact you would even consider ANY comparison with a Sporster is an insult to a Rocket!
Shame, shame, shame!
