Bought a Shinko for the fromt of my 2009 R3T. My OEM front was looking pretty bad after 5,300 miles. I had some time this morning, so I thought I'd try the install myself. All went very easily...moreso than I could have even hoped. I made a "workstation" by stacking 3 car tires on top of one another. Took out the valve core, sprayed the bead with silicone lubricant, then tackled it with my tire tools, and off she came. Easy as pie. New Shinko went on just as easily. Scraped off the old weights, poured in 1 ounce of DynaBeads, and aired her up. Both beads seated right away, at 40 psi. I was done in under an hour, including the time spent figuring out a "tool" to use to loosen front axle. (I had an old hex-head bolt and nuts that was a perfect fit - just lying there on my work bench. Save something long enough, and eventually it will come in handy for something!)

Then came the road test: put about 20 miles on, then opened her up a little; smooth as silk up to 100 mph. (I didn't want to take a new tire any higher than that). I am a DynaBead fan.

With the Shinko on the front, and my new General Altimax on the rear, I hope my tire needs are taken care of for at least another year or so!

Fronts are a snap to replace. The rear is a royal pain to replace. You woould think they would opt for moderately difficult both ends to make it fair.

was it a radial tire i have found them in bias for the r3t
