Does anyone think it's funny how new or prospective R3 owners will get on the site and ask questions without doing a quick search? Has no one ever heard of google, the interweb or a "search" button?

I'm all about dishing out advice, but c'mon, just do a little bit. Make an effort, guys! If you can't figure out if anyone has ever used Amsoil in their R3, well, maybe a Honda Rebel is more your style.

I'll let this one go, but how many time will we hear:

1. What is the best tire?
2. How can I improve performance?
3. What do you guys think about puttting a car tire on my R3? (That's my personal favorite.)
4. Etc., etc., etc.....

That was a rhetorical question, as I already know the answer.

But still, let's just have the mods remove the search function if no one uses it.

OK, I'm done. For now.

Let me have it...

Yeah... There are some threads I don't respond too because the answer is kind of obvious with the least amount of research.. Just depends on the mood I'm in at the moment I guess.. lol

Well ....My 2 cents worth

If it is a very new newbie.....I have no problems answering any of his questions...

I am fairly new to this site.....but very old member to the other Rocket site.

To me it is just rude to give a short smart a$$ answer....to someone that may not know how to do a search....or navigate around inside of this forum.

Oh......by the way.....How do you check the oil in a Rocket III...????

Just take a couple of Midols.....it will help with the cramps...:p

Simple if someone ask a question and you do not want to reply because it might be in the many thousands of threads the search pulls up then don't respond. Just go about your day. If you feel kind enough to shorten the guys search by answering him then by all means go ahead and be nice.

Joey, I think it will take more then just a couple midols to help.
But hey chase them away maybe they will get better results and treatment on the other sites.

I joined a Speed Triple forum before i made my purchase .. just for a bit of research and to find any inherent problems. Members on there are just f#ckin rude to anyone new. I told'em what i thought and copped a serve for it .. don't worry they got one back. Not everyone knows how to do 'Searches' .. i didn't when i joined up . I'm a 55 year old bikie not a I T geek ... cut'em a bit of slack i reckon.

Hey Dan got a question for you ( tried the Search function first :p) .. how come you refuse to send stuff to Owners in Aust/NZ ???.. If the prospective purchaser is prepared to foot the bill for postage what's the problem ???

I think the term newbie explains it all, They are new to the site! Some spoon feeding should be expected. They probably aren't even aware of the search function, or that their problem which they think is unique to them has been discussed endlessly in other posts.

Having been a member here for a couple years I have seen the same questions asked over and over, and I am always amazed at the patience of the members here who continue to answer these questions over and over, without making the poster feel bad about asking. In my opinion that is one of the characteristics of this site that make it better than some of the others.

With that said...... as a veteran of this site, should I get my new roadster soon and I start a post inquiring about installing the EB relay kit, I would expect an answer similar to this.......

Well, I'm glad you asked!

I wanted $40 shipped in the US. That would net me about $32 after PayPal fees and shipping. A very fair price for the buyer, right?

If I were to ship it to Australia, say, I would net $22.50 after Pay Pal fees...even if the buyer were to pay all of the shipping costs.

Then there is the extra hassle of the customs form. And the little shop near my workplace where I like to mail packages from quoted me $65 to ship a small box as they aren't set up like the post office. So I would haven to leave work early (2 hours non paid time) to reach the post office before it closed.

But why would I want to do that? To keep the peace. Why do you ask? What, may I ask, is your interest in the matter?

Now, since you asked, and Gothlander can. Confirm this, that is e qctly what I did.

Just curious .. thanks for explaining .. i've just noticed a few Owners have been unwilling to send parts to Aus/NZ in my time here. Now i know why ;)
