Had a similar experience about 30 years ago. Rode to Scotland with 4 others on Goldwings, me on my CBR1000. Got to the borders region and it started. 7 days on the trot of constant rain and a gale force wind to boot! Ended up spending 2 days in a farmers barn to try and dry out all the clothing, sleeping bags, tents, etc.. Got home and the sun was shining... Sods law
