Tri, check out www.leatherlyke.com for good hard bags, 25 Qt. capacity with no ugly hardware left on the bike when they're off...just fender bolts that are an inch longer than stock.
Regarding your Saddleman bags, what did you do to remove the yoke if you are using easy brackets? Are they zip on/off or pop studs? or did you have to cut where the yoke attaches to the bags?
I am about to purchase some bags and still undecided between 26ltr Ledries ($320) or the jumbo Saddlemans.
Have the Saddlemans kept their shape okay?
Thanks in advance for your assistance in helping me decide
I was thinking seriously of using Pelicans http://www.pelican.com/cases_detail.php?Case=1430 .Tough as nails, used by US Military, etc, lockable, watertight and very "industrial look".They would easily go on those brackets.Instead i got Leatherlykes, which to my dissapointment are designed to rub on the spring on the shockies.Nowhere on their website did I see that mentioned .Theyre are still doing fine after a few months riding on my neighbourhood road, which most folk would consider third world ,leave it a year and I will reserve my judgement after that. Not looking forward to seeing my chrome get damaged on the shockies. But overall they are quite practical.Top box is good as well.
