This fix works
I had issues where I had to double toe the shifter about 10% of the time on the upshift. The dealer said the shifter was bent and realigned it a bit. I can tell you it did not look bent to me or anyone else. The bike never dumped and I bought it from the dealer with 3800M and not a scratch on it. The guy who sold it needed cash and had a hard time parting with it.
I tried this fix. If I lube the working shifter parts and clean them (they do collect dirt), my problem goes down to about one in 40 shifts or less - and many bikes have that issue.
