Hi folks,
just got an 05 newly converted Grinnall R3 trike. Only had it just over 2 weeks and had the throttle stick yesterday, unfoutunately it happened on a very windey steep road but i came to no harm.
I stopped switched off and waggled the cables and she started up with free throttle.
When i stopped an R3 rider joined me and said that his 05 was recalled for throttle problems shortly after he got it. does any1 know what the problem was. The other thing i have seen somewhere is that the cable can snag after having a fuel gauge fitted. what do you do to get round this. Grinnall is based over 200m away so if its something i can sort myself all the better.
Here's hoping some1 can help Anne

First off,
Welcome to the site and R3 ownership.
Next are your cables free to move
(do they have slack in them).
If not you might want to reroute them.
I'd get a tube of graphite and squeeze some
into the cable housings to stop any friction.
Hope this helps and Welcome Anne.

The only throttle related recall for '05s was a new Triumph tune. The stepper motor could cause the bike to stick at around 2K RPM though. If it does it again.. pull in the clutch, hit the kill switch, flip it back on, and re-start the bike.. the should then start up at normal idle.. release the clutch and continue on your journey. I got pretty good at this for a while.. lol All without loosing a step.. :)

Welcome Anne
Good luck on your trike....I know you will have a blast once you get the trottle problems fixed.....I love my R3T
