Hey guys,
Goin' to Milan Dragway today for the bike runs. I have a 2012 Roadster with Carpenter pipe, Carpenter tune on factory ECU and K and N's. All else stock. What rpm should I launch at? Don't want to bugger it up at the line. 3500 and let the clutch fly? What do you think it should run?

I would go by feel take your time, more about not messing up than winning. Do a couple of passes before goin all out.learn to watch the tree, anticipate your launch.too much rpm and you could flip it or smoke it up and go nowhere.smooth is fast, rough is slow.got fork tie downs? These will tighten up your front end.lock em down, you want a solid suspension up front.drop yor rear shocks down as low as they can go.take any unnessary bling off, reduces weight and saves money if you stack it.i could go on more but that's enuff for you to think about.the only pressure you feel is from your self.Have fun...oh yeah I wouldn't recommend dumping the clutch @ 3000rpm. I would go by feel(2300-2500) for starters unless you have powercommander launch control.

i would not let the clutch fly. i would guess about one second while you are twisting throttle. if you have not tried this i would use caution.
just my opinion
i have not put mine on the track. let us know what your times are. good luck and have a good time.

I haven't raced mine (YET). I have practiced some launches though. I hold the tach at 3000, and let the clutch out as fast as I can without breaking the tire loose (not as much of a problem with Bridgestone Excedra Max) or doing a wheelie. Right before I reach full engagement I open the throttle all the way. It's hard to get to get your foot up to the shifter fast enough to hit second before the rev limiter kicks in. Great fun :p

With the torque you've got there should be no need to dump the clutch at all. Timing timing timing. And practice. Don't get too excited. TURBO200 pretty much said it. Good advice from the others too. Let us know how you go.

Yes ,you can surprise others at the lights by sitting there calmly idling away ...and then letting the clutch out and giving it to her.
Youll either spin rubber or power wheelie across the intersection:D

what hp does your r3 have?

Sorry I missed this earlier. I'm outta town so have been off line most of the day.

For next time, I'd suggest 2nd gear and hold 2700 feed it on fast but dumping is wrong.
