Right exhaust finish comes off on boot

Anyone ever experienced this? My boot is turning silver, that’s not an optical illusion or reflection, etc.

Well that sucks! How does the exhaust look? Doesn't seem right, why is your heel worse than the rest of the boot, as the heel shouldn't be any closer to the exhaust than the rest I would think.

So it’s actually the heat shield, to be more precise. The shield doesn’t look bad, but you can see where it’s worn down to the base metal in places.

My heel rests against the shield on that side of the bike when I’m riding, more so than the left side.

Doesn’t really bother me, I'm just curious if anyone else has noticed this happening.

Must be how you place your foot. I've not had silver on the boot from the shield, but I have occassionally had black sole marks on the shield from the boot.

Same here, the aluminum from the heel guards slowly becomes part of the boots. However since I replaced those with carbon fiber to match my Vandemon exhaust that doesn't happen anymore.
