I am toying with the idea of a project R3 when I come back to the USA next summer/fall - I may (if I can afford it, which I probably can't!) go for a used Roadster if there are any about, but much more fun wd be to pick up a lightly damaged R3 and rebuild it/with upgrades - just wondering if anyone has explored retrofitting the new ABS system to their current Rocket? Is it possible? Or a major headache, wiring loom and so on?
I would imagine the difference in price between selling your used bike verses buying a new Roadster would be less than the cost of retrofitting an ABS system. I would imagine it has a separate ECU, wheel speed sensors, possibly different wheels and caliper mounts etc.

That's a good point. I would love to have ABS too. I would love to have a new Roadster. But with a second kid coming in a few weeks, I likely will be stuck with my '06 several more years. I can't complain.

I can't complain either, I have a 2 year old daughter, 1st one TTL, just want to make sure I am around for a wee bit... The thing about these Rockets, they will last decades, they are totally overengineered, so they can become whatever you want...
