Replacement for America and Speedmaster

I posted about this over on DriveTribe. While I'm sure it's going to be a great bike, the 900 America and Speedmaster were special. They were the lightest bikes in the segment, and while the new Bobber is the same weight, they feel lighter and had a very narrow profile, which made them unintimidating machines that were perfect for beginners, smaller riders, and especially women. I put more women on the America/Speedmaster than all other bikes combined in my years at the dealer and they all came back happy. I think bumping it up to the 1200cc mill and the associated thicker profile and heavier feel is going to take away that friendliness that made it such a hit.

That said, if I can get my butt on one, you can bet I'll go turn some gas into noise!

Personally I'm hoping they're half right. If this turns out to be the 'Speedmaster' and the 'America' turns out to be the same setup with the smaller street twin engine, that would be pretty cool. It would draw a clearer line between the two models and still leave them with a lighter intro cruiser.

Really not digging that exhaust though. Feels like a Matchbox car. Granted I didn't like the spy photos of the Bobber and that turned put to be way better than those photos had led me to believe.
