Rear Tire Can't take the heat

I expect about 8k on my first rear tire...then I'm considering going to a Goodyear Eagle F1 225/50-16....I do a lot of rain riding..that must cut down on the friction against the tire..I check the tire pressures at least weekly or more often and keep them at 34/42...
