Rattle Rattle

Ok guys. I need to know what to do to get rid of the engine rattle or if its even possible. Is the Touring de-tuned so much that it just sounds like its running on bad gas? The bike runs great and has enough power but that rattle is the omly thing I can think of that I would like to change. I did take a 3/4 inch drill bit to the exhaust but that didn't seem to do anything but make it a touch louder and with a little popping on decceleration (which I DO like). What do I need? A tune? Those things are totally in a different language to me. Help me out if you can. Im open to all suggestions.
