I've got the Corbin young gun seat on my bike now, which I love, but my girlfriend doesn't like the firmness or the way it slopes down in the back. I found a good deal on an 07 classic tourer seat -will I have any problems fitting it to my 08 standard? I've heard they come off with some kind of pull-ring, which seems different from what I've got. Thanks

I have that seat that I use on my Standard for 2-up purposes. It does come with a bracket that bolts on where the standard passenger pad bolts on. The classic tourer seat locks in the same way as the standard seat, but also locks to this bolt-on bracket. The O-Ring is used to unlock the rear portion of the seat.

Your passenger will greatly appreciate the difference.. lol

The Classic seat will fit just fine. There is a little pull ring on the left side that unlocks the pillion portion while the key unlocks the main lock. Make sure when you get the Classic seat that the fender mount comes with it.

As an alternative, since you are already running a Corbin, have you considered the Corbin Dual Tour? I'm very satisfied with mine. The Triumph seats have a soft foam that is just brutal after a while.

Another alternative to your pillion issue is a Butty Buddy (www.buttybuddy.com). My brother uses one with his Corbin Young Gun seat. You can see the combo in action in this video. They are on the yellow Rocket just in front of me.

Thanks for the responses, very helpful. I'd love to get the corbin, just too expensive right now. Sounds like the classic seat will be a good option to throw on for longer 2-up rides. Tried the butty buddy, but my girl said it hurt her back.

I swap around from a Gel Roadster seat for solo to the Classic for two-up rides. I ditched that pull-ring thing , don't need it ... well i haven't found i've needed it..... both the seats sit fine with just the front catch.

You're probably OK without the rear bracket but if you need/want one I have a spare.
The Classic seat will not only fit, I reckon you'll find it just as comfortable as anything else. I have 2 (one with backrest) and love them. I've heard a few complaints from some of the bigger boys but if you're under 200lbs it's a great option for not a lot of money. The pillion seat is very good IMO.
