What tyres do you fit?. Sizes interest me more than makes as I'd have to look for makes that are available here in dear old sunny Spain.

I'm considering selling of some high grade firearms optics to pay for a set.

If anybody wants a US-Optics SN-9 10-42*80 scope.........

No that's not me.

Metzlers do a fitment, but otherwise choice for the 18" frount rim is a thorny one.. DO NOT FIT PIRELLI NIGHTDRAGONS...... they nearly killed me( totally SUCK BIG TIME on damp roads; & let go on me @ 100+kph on the mildest of bends. Big smash.. broke the front wheel, so I'm back on the alloy rim.
Conti do a 240 rear that looks the buisness, & mebbe if I replace the front, I might have to use a rear tyre in reverse(130 or 140 section)

Avon Cobra 240 front & 250 rear :p
Or this Avon 245

If you are going for the carbon rims, give me a shout I have had some dealings with them direct
And they were offering me some decent prices:cool:

the conti race attack rear is a soff compound depending on the hp don't ex[ect it to last long I figure less the 400 miles but man doe it stick :)
Now Shinko makes a front and reae the 005 advance 130/70/VR18 and 240/40/VR18 rear I have ran this rear tire or I guess to be honest abused it its a pretty good tire although I only got about 4200 miles out of it I was really hard on her. doing thing like 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and a little bit of 4th gear smoking of the tire so I suspect if your only running 240 horse or so it will hold up well. Of course 157.00 for 4200 miles wasn't a complete was of money either :)

Darkside on Carbon - That'll get one or two jittery.

Did you ever chat with David Taylor about alternative alloy rims, Les?

How decent was decent?. The Dutch seem to be a good 25% cheaper than hps in the UK - but they have no stock.

The alternative is simply a second set of standard rims. One to pass MoT's and one to ride on.
Or I still wonder if a Goldwing Front rime could be EASILY made to fit!.

The scope - is the dog's whotsits. At 5kms you can see the rim/tyre of a bicycle. Only really any use on 338LM and up. Ideal on Cheytac or Barret.

AM41 Venom 140/70B18TL 67V ??????? - Front fitment tyre. As it's not 3% different to the OEM tyre - I SHOULD be able to get this homologated as an OPTIONAL fitment. Rear seems 240/40VR18 would be the ticket. Cobra maybe?

Will the overall diameter of tyre and rim be the same as whats on there now? I thought I worked this out once before and you end up with a smaller diameter(like the dark side, oops)

EDIt I just did a again and it sounds like its within a mm of stock.

On teh never ending search for the Holy grail of tires, I have Pirelli michelin Bridgestone and metzler info that says DO NOT MIX BIAS AND RADIAL ON MOTORCYCLE. Something about unstability with the twist at speed and turns.

All manufacturers make one or the other for our BEAST, but only AVON and METZ mix the fit with one model.

The quest for perfection continues.

Fitting the rear is no too much of a problem, but unless you go Metzler, this is the problem I've come across:
