Protevtive clothing laws

A picture paints a thousand words!!!!
All most put me off my coffee...............

Apparently Vic coppers have from time to time had blitzes on tinted visors. Technically they are not legal in Australia because helmets are all tested with the original clear visors and that is what's approved. Only a fool would wear one down at night but they can also get you in the day time if they want. Never heard of it happening anywhere else; just Victoria. Anyone from down there confirm that?

Have ridden many kms down here for many years and never been pulled for not having a clear visor, as for gear its only a recommended to wear approved gear as far as I am aware. High vis clothing,,,,,, not yet !!!!

Laws are kind of redundant, I think. There are lots of people who choose not to wear protection, and they almost all grow up and get some when they hurt themselves. I was only 17 when I learned my lesson, came off in a collision doing 80+ km/h (managed to scrub off a little from the 100 or so I was doing). When you land on your head and shoulder and walk away with your life and just some hairline fractures in the legs thanks to the helmet that kept your brains on the inside you feel little temptation after that to ride without gear. If it's hot, you get airier gear.

All you need to know for RDU is that visitors to Victoria will be required to wear hi-viz jackets.

I think bright pink is the mandated colour...???? not sure.....
Nah, the bright red ones are allowed too.

Laws here say you must wear hi vis with gloves, boots, jacket, pants and helmet. All needs to be hi vis (not pink, bright red is acceptable).Helmet can be any colour as long as it is Aus standard.

You can get away with wearing non Vis if you have a Victorian Licence but anyone from out of state definitely needs hi vis. I have a few spare flags on flex poles if you need some to identify you as an out of state person. Victorians are very nice to people from out of state so worth gearing up mate.

Also if you have tats you'll need to use elastoplast to cover them but only when in public. Bandaids are ok too mate.

If you need any other advice please sing out, I'll definitely look after you bud!:D:roll::roll::laugh::laugh::laugh:

Yes mate, here is a rider getting booked for wearing a tinted visor in Collins Street. She was wearing everything that regulation states but had a tinted visor.

I think she is from Canberra

Canberra or Victoria witchever state you's southerners could do with a bit of sun on your skin. If you have a close look I think it's Europe somewhere with those big rego plates.
