Do product numbers matter? Or can I get same size shock and put them on?

Yes, go to Progressive's web site and it will give you the product numbers for the Rocket. There are a couple as I recall. I purchased mine on ebay.

The product number PRO440-4007C_N is not the part number for shocks for the R3. I'm afraid they won't fit.
