I was working on the front end of my bike today, and was finishing up by cleaning the front fender. Aparently a large piece of diamond edged sand got between my cleaning cloth and my "not one scratch till now" fender. It is two inches long and it is DEEP. It is pure white and my finger nail can follow it. It is horrible looking and it happened in an instant.

Anyone know any good tricks in hiding this! I used a polish and then a heavy wax, but it still shows.

You could add others to distract from the one that looks bad!

Or, if it looks like its just in the clear coat and not down to the paint and you REALLY want to take it out, you could get some 2000 grit sand paper and carefully WET sand it down a bit to take away the edge.

Or, you could get some clearcoat filler in a bottle and just add a little to the scratch and it will blend the line a bit. This may leave a slightly raised line, but will look much better than the scratch, and certainly won't show the white line.

Anyway, hope that helps. I would pick #1 and just enjoy the scratch as a wonderful memory.

Dunno about in the US, but here in Oz we can buy coloured polish...which is ordinary car polish but in a variety of colours.

A couple of goes with this on my red bike, on a similar scratch, and it has coloured the grey undercoat enough not to notice the scratch.

Maybe someone over there knows where it can be had????

This works okay, I did it on a black truck one time.
