Odometer doesn't display correctly

Hi all,
I love my 08 RIII classic but one oddity with it is my LCD odometer / trip meter doesn't display all of the digits correctly. The 4th digit from the right doesn't display the full digit, some of the LCD bars are missing it's missing all of the right-hand side and the top. I think it happened a bit after I bought the bike. The picture is from the startup sequence when everything is supposed to show 8's but it happens on odometer and both trip meters. Doesn't much matter except I zero out one of the trip meters when I fuel up and if I let it set a few weeks my old brain can't remember is it is 30 or 130 miles since fill up because the 1 won't show. Anyone seen this before and have a fix? I'm guessing it is inside the display and is just something to live with like I have been but I figure it never hurts to ask !
