My 2020 bike had recall for new large master 18 month ago, thought it was getting a bit spongy again towards the end of last summer, but after 4 month storage,no back brake again, thought that Triumph had finally fixed it with recall, but now back to bleeding myself again.

It makes me wonder if the ABS cylinder is leaking thru. It may not have any external leaks but if the piston has a leak path, you'll get spongy brakes.

In my opinion there is a design issue combined with manufacturing issue. You can rebuild all lines, ream and grind surfaces, use good quality washers.

I think you you are spot on,dont think I will get anywhere taking to Triumph for them to bleed again and again.Think I will just bleed back brake myself every time I feel it getting a bit spongy as only 10 minute job.

the braking system works as a unit, front and rear is not independent. if your bleed, perform both front and rear and do so manually. also check the wear on the pads (example: if the rear pads are ending life it will affect the entire system) Dont just topup fluids, replace and flush everything.

best wishes

Rear is not independent? Is brake fluid not separate back to front? Abs modulator controlling rear pressure though the front brake by a separate mechanical force to rear brake line.As rear brake operates independently.

The rear brake is 'kinda' independent. It acts as a solo brake when actuated with the foot pedal, however front brake lever pressure can also activate the rear caliper. From the Owner's Manual:

When the front brake is applied, a small amount of rear brake is also applied, allowing for balanced braking. The amount of rear brake application is related to the level of braking force applied by the rider through the front brake lever. Use of the rear brake pedal alone will only apply the rear brake

The front brake has no effect on the rear caliper. None. All it can do is trigger the line lock "ABS modulator" called the hill hold feature to trap the pressure you applied to the rear brake. The front lever exerts zero force to the rear caliper. None. Some people can't grasp the linguistics difference in wording across the pond.
