That's a beautiful bike! I don't know much about Rockets but I do know this: If that bike does not already have a headlight relay put one on it yesterday.
 
How much did you pay for it??? I have a 2005 for sale just as clean if not cleaner but a wee bit more miles(70000)
Enjoy the bike and please do not eff it up with a windshield., also ignore the naysayers who will be along shortly telling you all the bad things that will happen to your bike ride it and enjoy it.
 

I paid under $6k. This bike is pretty much mint except two small dings on the tank. Similar mileage/condition/year bikes I was looking at were asking from $7k to $8800. No windshield for this bike. I'm keeping my Vtx and it's set up with floorboards, bags, and a windshield.
 
Ive got the same bike, same year. Bought it at the end of last winter. It had 2300 miles. Paid $5300
