Any new helmet for me needs to be fitted with speakers, whether I do it or I get it that way...
For sale: one 25 year old Marushin half helmet, with visor and zip in ear flaps. Only crashed once. Black with scratches, not too many dents.

Daryl, Is that triumph gear??

I've NEVER ridden with raingear, (sometimes wishing I had) and would love some suggestions there!

you could always in times of needs use the old garbage bag and duck tape garb, don't we all carry a roll of garbage bags and tape? (see my daughter in that outfit on riding in paradise ) or like I do, two piece rain gear one (important) pull over jacket with a big front pocket and one pair of pants with zippers at the bottom and heat resistant cloth around the inside near exhaust area this has proved the easiest to put on on while stopped on the road under an overpass in windy condition , for feet any half shoe pull over with stirrups and bread bags for glove and you are done!

and with the least amount of zippers and velcro closures you will remain dryer and warm . I do not think there is a brand superior to any other since they use pretty much the same material , the key in all is to keep it as simple as possible ergo inexpensive as well beside how often do we use the stuff. this does not apply to all the blokes in GB naturally

Yes, it's Triumph gear

Anyone have suggestions on a blue tooth modular helmet?

Look into scala - I got the team rider and put it into a shoei multitech modular. Works dandy. Allows you to sync your phone (bluetooth) plug into your ipod for music and talk to your buddy with a paired unit while you are out on a ride. Only change I made was to swap the huge foam mic cover for something smaller that fit in the helmet more comfortably. Means you can also pull the unit out if you change helmets.

The Triumph stuff is very well made. My company does R and D for adventure types-testing and designing clothing and such. The liner they use on the Adventure gear is good stuff-but be a bit careful when you remove and replace it. While not weak or poorly made the nature of the material suggests that you go slow and steady-it'll work well for you. I know as I've tested it.

Next up for us in the Northeast where we get all kinds of weather on a ride is the Triumph Explorer gear. This line features Symptex(tm) which is really top notch stuff and at least as good as the industury standard-and IMO better buy a measurable amount. Microhole membranes need a LOT of care to work correctly.

Finally, if you ever see eVent membrane in a product don't think twice about it-get it. fantastic but $$$$$$$$$$ like you won't believe. Wholesale px is WAY up there.

Thanks for the info Fleece. Yeah, I checked out the Explorer gear too. It's probably a bit much for most days around here. Of course, I say that and tonight's low is going to be 18 degrees.

Btw, here are a few pics of me modeling the new stuff. The Helmet is an Icon Airframe Rubacon. The gloves are Triumph "Action" gloves and the boots are Icon Street IIs (IIRC).
