Antigravity batteries are superb and have that failsafe re-start button, I'd have one in a heartbeat. But for us down under the cost is astronomical like $1200 or so, so it's a no go from me.
Wow......That's expensive.
How does that compare to a good quality AGM battery in your part of the world?
I have located a potential source for a good quality stock battery here in the UK:
£420 for Lithium compared to £125 for a replacement standard battery.
I can't justify the extra cost.......In the case of the Triumph Rocket 3, I can't see that the extra cost justifies the potential benefits of lithium.
I can see that if I was building a Special and I needed the compactness and the lightness etc.... but I can't see it for a regular Rocket 3 rider, like myself.
I have to agree with you Jagster - I am all for embracing new tech as it becomes available but I can't justify the cost to change to Lithium either. Sodium batteries look more promising (costwise) but are not available in anything over 4aH at the moment - larger sizes might be the answer though so maybe next time I need to replace the battery I will take a closer look.
Weight-wise, it's not like a few kg will make much difference to our bikes
