greetings all--

i soon will be joining in the Rocket III obsession (coming from a Honda Valkyrie) -- the current financing rates promotion from Triumph, and the sales tax deduction were all pluses

my question:
what are your local dealers discounting off MSRP for new 08s? my dealer is only taking $1k off

i see posts on cycletrader for new 08s at $12.5k and $12.9k !
those prices seem too good to be true

I supposedly paid 13k for mine, but with the tax, tag, prep, shipping, handling, doc fees, gardener fess, and the shop dog's food, it was closer to 15k.

Try to get your best price and question them on every single add-on. They're in the business to separate you from as much money as they can.

Finally, just get the **** thing, forget what you paid, and have a blast. :D :D

In late March 07 I picked up a leftover 06 R3 Classic for $13.5K out the door from Hardings Park Cycles of Canton.

It was a relatively swift transaction, the (non financed) deal was done over the phone and I was in the shop for an hour or so a couple of days later to handover the certified check and take the bike home.

Hardings-Park is a multi-brand dealer. If you don't mind a stack em high sell em cheap kind of a dealer then give em a try.

They also gave my 10% off accessories bought during that visit.

Good luck

Tony

Installation too

Another thing to consider is when I bought mine I "loaded the boat" so to speak, so installation of accessories was included.:)

Jars, crash bars, windscreen, sissy bar, fogs and fuel/clock guages... If you have lots of time, it is not a big deal, but that was several hours that I used to ride.:D

AVUS9,
Good for you.
Just make sure you get the one you like and make sure it's black.
You know of course they only use the first run flawless parts on the fastest ones right, the rest they paint red...

Be sure to stop in at the Introduce Yourself forum soon.

A 2008 you say, Touring or Standard with Classic overtures? I don't know why a top dollar to give for an 08 Classic would amount to more than 13K OTD.

Welcome to the Site.

The Koala bear had settled down in the comfort of a gum tree and had just lit one up...
A passing lizard smelled the aroma and followed it to the tree...upon reaching the tree he inquired if he might join in.
Soon the koala and lizard had consumed enough to where the lizard found himself in dire need of a drink of water. Below them flowed a forest stream into which the lizard, having leaned to far forward, fell into. The lizard was unable to swim, and upon seeing this a lounging nearby crocodile came to the rescue. He returned the floundering lizard to the shore and asked what was the matter. The lizard explained his recent events to which the crocodile had to see for himself. So he went to the koala bear's tree.
Upon reaching the base of the tree the crocodile shouted up to the koala bear, hey dude! What's up? The koala looked down and said, **** duuude...how much did you drink!

I bought my new 08 phantom black r3 regular last september with a chrome valve cover tossed in for free installed with 7 year road hazzard warranty out the door for a little over 12k . The only vehicle I've ever bought with 0.0 miles on it, but the dealer knows me quite well and I'm a perferred customer and paid cash.
