The only badge it had on it was a V8 one on the bonnet. I thought it had a Studebaker look about it. Was a very nice looking car and different, I could see Julie driving to work in that. I think the Matt purple ute was a late 40's early 50's Chev with a chop job.

Bruce Its a 1951 Studebaker champion convertible rare as rocking horse dung, they only had the bullet nose till 1952 in Australia anyway , they came out with a little flat head six the V8 would be a repower job, looks a nice day to check out the cars.

I see some HotRod builders are doing paint jobs on cars to make them look weathered and rusty. I think they call it patina paint, I'd call it cheating finding a rusty one and leaving it that way still looks better. Don't get me wrong I like and can appreciate shiny good paint too, just not into owning it and looking after it.

The old Ford is a "Ranchero."

As far as the old "patina" paint; some shops in the states will clean, then clear coat right over the old finish.

That seals it from further oxidation, but keeps the original old weathered/whatever's left finish.

I remember them here back when I was young boy.

They looked about the same coming or going (front and rear were very similar).
