Lugging the engine

Thanks all

I appreciate all the responses. I figured that was the case but, with so many experts available, why not ask. Yeah, I hate to lug engines and, within reason believe engines will run like they are broken in. Only problem on this baby is running it up to 6000 in most any gear gets me within the citation range of the local gendarmes. In fourth or fifth gear my gold retirement badge wouldn't make a bit of difference.

Thanks again for the help. God I love this beast!

6000 RPM's??!!?? hell, I'm lucky if I get it over 3.5, we don't have enough straight-aways around here...

Guess I need to find a gumball rally of something....

Jeez, I'm pushin the readline every day I ride mine. A few exceptions are like this morning when the temp is in the 30's. THe faster I go the colder I get, so I tend not to go so fast. The heated seat helps, but at higher speeds and cooler temps, the heated grips lose thier effectiveness.

115mph in third gear is my magic number; When I change up to 4th, I usually just let it cruise.

I have a 10 mile drive to work. Country roads, 3 stop signs, no stop lights. One open stretch about a mile long. I usually don't see any patrols through thier except for the tropper that lives on the road.

I'll open her up when I go home for lunch, it should warm up a bit by then.
