I can go shopping with this set up. The Gears bags expand as well. It all comes off in 30 seconds with two straps. Considering a cross country trip.

So Did you do a trip? Im pondering my luggage for next summer for my 3GT. Id appreciate your experiences with that

Nothing to speak of yet. Had family issues this summer and couldn't get away. I still have the luggage rack itself clear as this is where I put the boom box.
