Hi all, would like some info on throttle sleeve wear. My bikes' done low klm & the plastic throttle sleeve flops around like a cock in a shirt sleeve. Is it normal for them to wear quickly. It has t bars on it but it seems like it needs an extra bearing sleeve to space it out. I want to put a throttle break away kit on but not as it is. Any info greatly appreciated.

Not normal for them to wear at all mate.. sure you put everything back together right since fitting the T-Bars ..did the "cock in a shirtsleeve " problem .. ( a saying that I will try to weave into conversations when opportunity presents) start at T-Bar fitting time ?

Hey T.C. your Tassie trip looked great wouldn't mind gettin down there myself one day.The bars I didn't fit it's always been like it since I've had it. It's starting to annoy me though you could almost fit a plastic sleeve around it to shim it out. Might have to get a new one might measure it first.

So has it always been loose or has it only started recently .. having had to root around with my throttle tube down in Tassie I just can't see how it could 'wear' that much. I put on a set of Iso-grips in Melb before we went across to Tassie. Because my handlebars are powder-coated the grips were tight as on the throttle tube. Had to scrape all the p/coat off the bars to get the throttle to work even close to how it should. Had to emery paper the sleeve/grip because of the pressure the Iso-grips caused .. just can't see how the tube could wear that much ..how many klms on your bike mate ?

A big problem with R3 throttles is that the last 3/4" or so actually gives little or NO support to the sleeve - mine has all sorts of additional stuff in so it does not waggle.

Yeah think it may be the bars going to pull it apart tonight & have a look. I think there thunderbike t bars as it's only done 20thou wouldn't have thought any of those parts should be worn. ( Thanks for the demonstration RKTNMYPKT it is very loose along the whole sleeve a bit like yourself I see):roll::roll:
