Than forget it and learn to SHOUT louder. I found an old Moto-Guzzi horn that fits perfectly where the original sits. Bigger and much louder - but still not intimidating.

Most of the POWER horns operate using a different electrical schematic - They earth through the mount. Whereas the Triumph one earths through the switch. And the switch will not take the load.
 
I could make up a harness maybe
 
hmmm, well then i'll have to give it a go... even i can swap out wires

what's the model number that you bought? there's several listed
