Just wondering the cost of 10,000 mile service

What other people paid probably isn't that informative since labor rates vary dramatically depending on part of the country and in some cases which country you are in. Here in Northern CA I would expect something in the ballpark of $700-900.

So....i've picked my bike up and now have had the chance to look through the fairly detailed invoice and I can see that 50 percent of the total price, has gone on materials.
I suppose if someone is savvy enough, it will be possible to buy all of the consumables at a slightly lower cost than the dealer price, but I think overall, i'm now not too stressed out about the cost of the service, seeing the labour cost subtracted out from the total cost.
Before I took the bike in, I was feeling a bit light headed about the costs involved, but now i'm feeling a little less so.

I asked them to re-connect my quick-shifter (as my battery got disconnected some time back) and I got them to adjust the headlight beam angle and I asked if they could verify that the sparkplug caps were pushed fully home (something i've heard from others, has sometimes been an issue).
No charge shown for those bits and pieces.

@TURBO200R4 I wasn't able to speak with anyone who could tell me how the headlight is adjusted, so i'm rather light on info to relate back to everyone about how to do it.
To be honest, i've not tried to look closely at the bike in order to work it out for myself, but it can't be Rocket science (or could it?...🤔;)😂).....but suffice to say that it is possible to adjust.
I will find out eventually.

It sounds like the general cost is about $700 - 900 for this service, so they must be marking up the cost of those parts quite a bit. Unless I'm forgetting something off the top of my head, it's an air filter, fuel filter, oil filter, oil, and spark plugs. Did they charge you $350 - 450 for those parts?

Air filter - £25
Engine oil - £75
Oil filter - £9
Fuel filter - £50
Air filter - £25
Fuel Pump seal - £23
Other seals, sundries, & 'environmental costs' & also VAT - £75

(i've rounded figures a bit for visual simplicity)

The oil seems to be the stand-out single expense, especially when VAT is added @20%. Fuel pump seal also seems to be a big earner for them too....

I suppose it would be remiss of me not to at least acknowledge that also absorbed within the total cost I have a print-out of all of the inspection checklist carried out including any advisory points found by the technician and also the software updates + autoscan report etc...

The conversion from British pounds to US dollars (for those of us using that coin) is currently 1 : 1.4
So that oil was indeed pretty pricey- about $105 US. Some of the other stuff though may be only slightly elevated.
I've changed the fuel filter a couple of times now and (just like with the 2.3 Roadster) have reused the pump seal without a problem, but I don't blame a shop for doing it (cheap insurance and the manual calls for it).

Did they change the spark plugs or just clean them?

There was no mention about spark plugs in the schedule of works, but I suppose that they might not mention them if the process is just to inspect and lightly clean.
My dealership has a policy of replacing the fob battery at every service but I only found that out after a general chat and the person brought up the subject voluntarily.
so there are small things like that could be done without the customer's knowledge.
