Now yer talking ! None of these new fangled fly by wire , garden trellis , namby pamby , high maintenance , supposedly dual purpose , carphone warehouse posing , ride mode switching , traction controlled fanny bikes !
Take one of them around a field will do nothing but Hurt you and your wallet .
Now a KLR or even better , an XR , that's just understated manliness that is !
 
Exactly! We have had every XR from 50-500. I loved them all. The 200 & 250 were a blast in the woods in tight single track stuff. The 400 & 500 were great in the sand and on long runs down the power lines and would wheelie all day. Loved those old air cooled bikes. AH the good old days.
 
I had the 650r with 2 sets of wheels , would wheelie it virtually the whole way to work and back on the 17 inch road wheels and then put the 18 inch standards with knobblies back on for Sunday and ride endure events .
What a beast !

I never had the 650. I rode my neighbor's one time and I loved it. That bike could pull a house of its foundation.

It had an exhaust pulse that could blow old ladies over . The most antisocial bike I ever owned . I only sold it coz I was one point away from a police confiscation order due to reckless riding . **** , what do they know ?
