Iraddic Idle

Hey All...

On my 2005 R3, Im having a intermittent idle issue...I was riding with the engine at 3 k rpm and it behaved like the accelerator was stuck...In neutral the idle slowly went down from 3k to 1k...I turned the bike on & off once and it went back to normal...

Thoughts?

sounds like the TPS.
Throttle Position Sensor.

2005? It's the primary throttle position sensor. Lots of us have had the exact same problem. You'll need to get the new one with the blue innards.

I had the same problem on my 05 and it stopped when they installed the the new tune to fix the idle as per the recall.

I've had the same issues when my primary TPS got 'out of adjustment'.
A couple of minutes on the Tuneboy and it's fine.

It will, periodically, wiggle out of adjustment. I may not be torquing it properly. The 'old wrist' torque wrench isn't as accurate as it once was.

Just replaced the primary TPS at the end of last season on my 2007 Standard. Triumph payed for the new part and I payed for the labor.
