I'm ready for R.A.A. IV

That Barber motorcycle museum looks interesting. I could spend about a lifetime and a half just looking there, but then I'd miss the next ride, so probably cut it down to just a all day thang. Think I'll schedule a week off next year, just to make sure I don't miss nothin.. xhdskip

Skip....

You need to develop a relationship like I have with my employer....Just tell 'em you are going in advance and then when you go, they forget you told them months ahead of time and get irate. Then you tell them....TS.

Not a word was said when I went back to school one day late. Matter of fact, the other 2 instructors got along just fine.

My department head said later that he thought I would be back on Tuesday to which I replied.......You remember what thoughts did to himself don't ya? Thought he passed a fart. Turned out to be something more.....

I'm back to 'teaching the masses not to be asses'. I have a basically brain dead 55 year old male that has the attention span of a chipmunk, is extremely nervous and has the typical I can't comprehend my right from my left syndrome. At least he don't have an ongoing romance with his cell phone.

If I looked at my students as a cross section of America....We are all in BAD shape.

Yea I know about the employer forgetting thang. I told em as soon as I found out the details. Said they'd put it on the (computer) calendar as scheduled time off. About a month later a friend took some "scheduled time off" they canned him for no show, no call in. That got me thinkin so I asked to see the calendar, sure enough I wasn't scheduled off. Made them put me on as I watched. No problem after that. Hey I realize them bigwigs are busy, trying to breath an all with your head up your ass can't be easy.Sooner we set a date, Sooner I can make sure I'm scheduled off. Yea training some of these folks to do their job is like tryin to teach jellyfish to fly, dang near impossible. xhdskip

It's Over

Sitting in my backyard with my first cup this morning watching the leaves come down at an astonishing rate is when it hit me, both summer and RAAIII are over. Ahead is a long and chilling winter for some of us. It is ok to curse Texans and Floridians during this period. I will have to say this past gathering was the best job of "herding cats" I have ever witnessed. I know Pianoman must have logged allot of computer and phone time getting restaurants and attractions lined up. ( I truly believe PMan could sit down and talk to the devil and make him a friend.) The itinerary was posted well in advance and distributed thanks to Shawn and Pigger. There were some incidents, riding on bad bearings, Rocket ditch diving, bungee flats, possessed battery cables, trailer locks with no keys, and the obstacle course parking at the Pine Lodge. (Flipper is truly charming at 1am after loosing his Rocket in a moat.) Eventually these things turn into memories of a great trip. Personally I suffer from lighting gremlins. Last year it was a headlight, this year a running light due to a blown 5 amp fuse. The important thing is we all made the trip and returned home safely with a great time in the middle. No matter where we end up, there will be a RAAIV and there will be the veterans from this year and hopefully many new Captains to share the experience. I make one resolution, I am staying for the entire rodeo next year. At first the I thought the orbs you guys were talking about were boobs. Glad you posted pictures.

you mean they weren't? An here I thought ole flip was keeping the good pictures for his own personal stash.. Just balls of light poppin in an out? what a letdown. I'm sure Rusty, Billz, and myself were all waitting on those beautiful orbs.. oh well, theres always next year..Ya know, something I figured I'd get a ration about but haven't as of yet was the number of Red, and blood an bone rocks being more abundant that the faster black models. If I counted correctly, it was 6 red, 6 blood and bone, and 5 black, 1 red & black, 1 blue, and 1 yella. am I wrong? Grey was conspicuous by their absence.

I had a great time up in ES in spite my tire leaking the whole event.:( I did get some good curve time which revealed the R3's ability I'd not experienced before and respect it's capabilities to challenge the Maggie Valley area next year on a Riken Raptor. It matters not where or when, count me in. ;)

Sounds about right on the colors... :) All of those slower colors that aren't blue that is... :D

Ya know TxR111Rider, from your blue avatar, I really thought your bike would not look quite right, but man, in person, thats a good combination and laid on just right. Let me just say your avatar doesn't do it justice. Now I'm wonderin' what color enhansing colors will show up mext year. Take care y'all. It sure was fun wasn't it? xhdskip

Thanks.. I have noticed the flames really don't show up right in pictures for some reason. In bright sunlight they really jump out because the white is really a metallic pearl which shows through the yellow, orange, and red in the flames, but can't seem to capture that in a picture.
Gunshots took a few pictures of it that I posted and they turned out really well!

Nice paint

Gotta agreed with Skip, thought the pic looked awfully powderpuff blue (the color us chickens might like to ride!). However in person, cool bike.

That yella one (Paul) looked good too.;) The blue lights were nice!

Hopefully I don't lay mine down and have to add flames or crosses or something!
