Hi,

Ive been reading through the idle adjustment issues and fixes..

Ive taken my bike in on the recall and they attempted the mapping and adjustments..

it ran great for a few hours and then the stalling came back, I took it in a second time.. same thing.. temp fix for a few hour.. then back to stalling

I mentioned the manual idle adjustment, and they agreed that the manual adjustment would be the next step to take...

but two places had quoted me about 3 hours of labor just to do the idle adjustment?

does that sound right? Ive read through the forums that it was about a 10 minute fix??

Ive looked at the pictures and can tell the screw seems to be a little tricky to get to?

Dumb question but is your bike still in its two year warrantee?

Honestly, before I paid for parts and 3 hours labor, I'd spend the money on some good tools and do it myself. I heard also that the Tune-Boy software could be right up your alley. Check it out.

No warrantee that im aware of .. I bought a pretty high milage 2005 @ 28K miles.. It looks as though the original owner may have bought it late 04

luckily the original owner had it serviced all the way up to its 20k, so I will be taking it in for the 30k pretty soon here and at the same time have them do the manual idle adjustment

I was considering doing the job myself if it was something kinda down and dirty.. but @ 3hrs to adjust the idle.. I may just wait and leave it to the "Pros"...

I love the bike and everything else seems to be going good (knock on wood)

but that darn idle problem

I looked up tuneboy... isn't that a $500.00 setup? if so.. its outa my budget, especially if I may be looking at around another $500 for the 30k service
