Howdy from Chicago area.

Welcome from the Chicago south side!!!! Not really but close. Lafayette Indiana. Got my 2015 R3T at Windy City Triumph in St. Charles.

Make sure you check out Midwest Triumph Riders on Facebook. We are having a rally in Southern Indiana in June. Great group for the region.

Wishing you miles of smiles

I got my bike from Windy City in St Charles also. I work down the road a bit from there. I am on the Triumph Facebook page also.

Welcome to the site! I'm pretty new here myself but am from the Chicago area, NW burbs. Picked up a '14 Roadster three weeks ago, and after the first real twist of the throttle I've been unable to get the grin off my face. Bike needed tires real bad so I couldn't get the full experience until I got them on, and now I think my arms are longer from hanging on.
Enjoy your Rocket!

I'm from the Western burbs. I always have a grin when I park the bike and I think my arms may be a little longer too, lol

Welcome from Montana!

I was stationed at the Navy base in Great Lakes for a couple years. Lived up there mostly but had an apartment on the north side in Ravenswood for a year. Now that I've lived with wide open spaces for a few years I don't know that I could do big city life again, but I loved it at the time!

Bought my R3 right before I moved away. Wish I had it sooner, you've got some great riding around there!

I have delivered stuff to Great Lakes Naval base a few times and been by there many times.
I would think the riding is better in Montana.

Overall probably yes, but mostly just different. There's nonstop grand landscapes and vistas, and of course that can be breathtaking. But it can also seem so far away at times, like a big painting you're riding by. And it's so wide open a lot of the roads are just long straight stretches through the valleys and hills with the occasional mountain pass.

Some of the best riding I've ever done is through heavily wooded small curvy roads, and there's plenty of that in the Midwest. You've got amazing riding from just past Madison to Minnesota, and really that's as far for you as I have to go for some of the really great rides out here.

It's probably from growing up in Indiana. As much as it can impress out here, I'll always miss the trees in the east. Plus riding through open corn country will always hit home for me, plus you have the lakefront and oh yeah… Michigan! Tons to enjoy.

You have a point there. There are some really nice areas when you get away from Chicago. I guess both areas have pros and cons.
I also agree, it is pretty cool to roll through miles of corn fields and such.
