how many k's in one day

I've done several 1000+ mile days, of the Iron Butt variety, on my R3T. I did over 2,400 miles (IBA 50CC) in under 46 hours last year.

I'm doing about 1500 miles in under 24 hours very soon (IBA Border 2 Border Insanity), but that will be done on my BMW.

I apologize for not providing the distances in kilometers, as math has never been my strong point!

1500 miles = 2414 kilometres that's one hell of numb arse you'd have

Hey Cobba, see you ended up in Brighton QLD. I grew up in Sandgate ...well maybe " grew up" not exactly ...anyway you must know Sandgate people i am guessing ??? Both my daughters and a lot of my old mates still live there.

Know a few guys from another forum that was around awhile back.
The main player had a bar set up under his house in Brighton and I did a few visits there over the years.
Don't know if he remembers it but I met Mitch up there on that trip.

Got a sister in Maryborough that I haven't seen in years and a few old mates I've hardly seen in the past 20 years around the area too so I'll be making the best of the trip in September and hangin around up there for a few days or a week.

The longest for me was 1100 kms (675 miles) in one day from just North of Toronto to Winchester VA via Gananoque on my Norton Commando. I guess my arse was a lot tougher years ago.

1060 miles in about 20 hours in an Iron Butt ride. All the miles were in Texas, from the Red River (northern border) to the Gulf of Mexico (southern border) and then back. The last 3 hours were miserable. That is the first and last time I will ride that many miles in one day. I have a one day ride planned for March that will be about 650 miles. This is about the max anymore.

ok all these huge K's have inspired me to ride to SA and back as an overnighter. door to door (my place to Nev's) is 830k's so i should stop being a sook and just ride there and back instead of paying for freight.

this has me thinking, what would the highest k's be, well if you rode tank to tank, only stopped for fuel and a piss, took an hour break for lunch and rode a 24hour stint, max k's with average speed of 90kph allowing 15 min refuels every 300 would be...........

well according to the base numbers the max you could ride in a day is approximately 1890ks in 24 hours unless your average speed was higher than 90k's but that could be difficult as once you factor slowing down to stop and stopped for 15 mins for refuel and stretch, traffic and what not, 90kph would be a fair average, then 300k per tank, well you could get better but depends on attitude straight bits, due etc

now considering these fellas have done 1100miles which equals 1770k's that is some extremely serious miles/k's.

Off to the shed as I think I need to drink some concrete and harden up!

Ponters.
You need to keep in mind that America has a much better road system than Australia.
For my 900+ in -10 hours I had to ride at around the 125 to 130 mark as often as I could.
Every small town you pass thru takes about 5 Ks off your possible hours distance.
The bigger the town/ small city, the more that distance is.
Every 15 minute stop for fuel/food is a potential 30 Ks of open road.

Melbourne to Adelaide looks easy on a map but count how many towns there are along that route. It's easily achievable but not an easy task.

As you'd know. It's not Freeway from state to state going that way across the country.
