Would not want to drop that straight into your pocket .

Do you think its from the engine heat :?:

Has anybody that has done the key relocate to the side panel, experienced a hot key, hot enough where you don't want to hold it tight, when you have removed it after riding :?:
YES!!! Not hot enough to burn or melt, but, yes, very hot. 8)

Not hot for me, but I have the cooler Jardines and tune... Is the key on the left side of the bike, if not, you will get trounced by the heat from the pipes...

Mike.....

If it gets to hot all the time , the lubricating grease inside the switch could disappear , leaving a stiff/sticky switch :?

You used a key with all those wonderfully exposed wires that begged to be crossed? My Matchless didn't even have a key. Buddies would disapeer with it when I was in class and I would comeback to an empty tank. Twas a b*tch to push to the gas station.
Cars were actually easier it seemed - less wires and easier to get to. Pushem down the block and jump it. electric start works well.
Ah, the marks of mispent youth

Still praying for ya (and all the other capt'ns too).
This sparked a flashback (flashbacks count as memory, right?) of my own youth. A couple buddies and I did the ol' wire from the headlight socket to the coil trick in a dark Bremerton alley. Turned on the lights, bump started the car and drove away. Most of this scenario was witnessed by a city cop who just set across the street and watched. It was perfectly legit, but he had no way of knowing that. Didn't care, apparently.
Sorry about the thread hijack. Will now return control of this thread to the adults...
