high idle

I was out riding yesterday and all of a sudden my idle went upto about 2000 and would not come down,I flicked the wrist a couple of times and it would not lower. I finally had to pull over and shut the bike off. I had restarted it and it seemed to be ok. This could be quite dangerous trying to downshift for a curve etc any ideas of a fix or what the problem could be? Im going to try the 12min tune today but I am leary of it happening again while riding.
 
Your TPS is on its way out......Have yourself a new TPS fitted......

PS. When your shop plugs your bike into there computer, it will say 'everythings OK with the TPS' but it isnt.... :wink:
 
Ok I guess Ill have to take it back to the shop After the 2+ months they had it for the transmission problems I guess I have no choice I just wonder if they will fix it under warrenty which has expired on my bike or will they blame this also on the car tire.............. is this a self fix item that I could do or does it involve some major disassembly I just hate being ripped off for the so called work that the stealers do
 
just another thought was this problem ever addressed under the so called upgrade kit or any similar thing
