Hi Folks. Just introducing myself. I pick up my new R3 Tourer this weekend. Two tone blue. I live in the Atherton Tablelands in Queensland Australia. For those of that have never been here it is MC riding paradise. I only moved here 3 months ago and look forward to the next few years just finding all the good roads. My present bike is a Suzuki VStrom 1000. A great bike but nothing compared to the R3. I have an Elite camper trailer to tow behind the Rocket. (that's mainly to keep the Mrs comfortable) I've found if I keep her comfortable she doesn't complain half as much and I get to ride more often.
I look forward to getting to know you all better and probably picking your brains about looking after the bike. .
Are there any other Aussies here?

Bye for now.

Yeah G'Day mate I am from Tamworth NSW welcome I have only just joined myself Have had my R3 since Jan 08 I enjoy riding when its not in the mechanics

Not an aussie, but from all i've heard i'm pretty sure i'd like it there! It's funny you say it's mc paradise there, as i sometimes think to myself as i'd riding around in the appalachians the very same thing. Can you say what makes it great out your way? If I had to say... I guess for me it's light-to-no traffic, lots of variety in roads, no stop lights, and beautiful scenery. Maybe you could post a picture representative of what it is to you on one of your break-in rides!
Welcome to the forum :bch:

Greenbaron, I've been most everywhere except down under and I'd have to agree there's no place like home...in the Appalachians.

Welcome to the forum twodogs  Did you come by that handle from a native American Indian? If so, I believe I've heard your story. I understand they have a peculiar naming custom. Hitlery (her majesty the Clinton) is known as Walking Eagle. She's so full of crap that she can't fly any longer.

Hitch Doctor has an offering for the RIII. I believe at least one regular attendee here on the forum has posted picture(s) of his FBG with a very nice chromed hitch'em up. The Tourer is a finely equipped version and the price is right. What color scheme are you getting?

The auxiliary driving (fog) lights were an early addition along with passenger foot boards on mine. The aux lights will light up the night and road side varmints.

Good to have another one from down under join the best RIII site around. See that the tourer has taken fancy with more and more captains which is great. Do keep the girl happy for many enjoyable miles of discovery. Welocome

Exactly that. Green rolling hills, dairy farms, crater lakes, rain forest and a variety of road types. I will post some pics soon. Thanks all for the welcome. I can tell already that I will be a regular user of this great forum.

And no....not native American. It's a foul tasting drink down here in Oz. I just like the name.
