I would of thought triumph would of lacquered any bare Ali parts, I've got my bike under cover at the moment but I also have it stripped down for repair so once I've repaired and painted all the damaged plastics I'll start polishing the Ali parts.

Strange ain’t it, you’ve got those Kettles and it was Suzuki back in the day who had the bad reputation for bad finishes and parts corroding!

I had a 2005 1050 speed triple and used that from Gatwick to Heathrow every day of the year and that never suffered any corrosion. The wheels on the rocket have started to bubble up on the rim edge so I'm going to remove the painted area about an inch in on both wheels and highly polish them rather than have the wheels painted again.

The underside of the bevel box rots as well. I'm taking mine off and am going for the polished finish. I've seen one done on FB, it looks smart
