Hi from the UK

Hello, I am currently residing in sunny Manchester. If you have rust problems, as I have, try CorrosionX. I was surprised how it worked on light rust. Sort of dissolves it, with a bit of brushing.

Hi,
Thank you for the heads up, all of the ali parts on my bike are quite bad, it's definitely seen it's fair share of the English winters. I've got a couple suzuki gt750's which are 50 years old and don't have corrosion that bad, quite shocking for today's standards.

This place has pretty good prices. (for carbon that is) might be cheaper than OEM. Shop Also found these rotors. For TRIUMPH Front Brake Rotors Speed Triple 1200 RR 22-24 Daytona 675 R 13-17 16 | eBay Shop

I'd also confirm its the rotor that's bent. (unless its obvious) and not the fork lower. Axle lug. A dial indicator would tell.....Also, the rotors from eBay are made in China. take from that what you will. A way cheaper alternative to OEM. I looked for rotors made in Turkey, which eBay usually has. But didn't find them for the rocket. The Turkish ones have gotten good reviews from a lot of people.

I’m in Lowestoft and salt corrosion is a nightmare here as well, it’s in the air all the time in winter.

I'm new to Triumph. For the price of this one, the finish is poor. I've got the powder coating on the bevel box and rear wheel bubbling off in places. The rust is mainly on the shocks and footpeg joints. Plenty to get on with, this winter.

I had a 2005 1050 speed triple and used that from Gatwick to Heathrow every day of the year and that never suffered any corrosion. The wheels on the rocket have started to bubble up on the rim edge so I'm going to remove the painted area about an inch in on both wheels and highly polish them rather than have the wheels painted again.

I would of thought triumph would of lacquered any bare Ali parts, I've got my bike under cover at the moment but I also have it stripped down for repair so once I've repaired and painted all the damaged plastics I'll start polishing the Ali parts.

Hi,
You can physically see the disc is bent, I'll find out tomorrow if it can be repaired so fingers crossed.

Strange ain’t it, you’ve got those Kettles and it was Suzuki back in the day who had the bad reputation for bad finishes and parts corroding!
