Hello from Europe...

T/K just skip over the border and register your bike in Germany .. they seem to get away with building some pretty wild machines .
Mainland EU has become VERY anal about pipes. The only way around it is something old.

When I was in Germany in the late '90's I lived near to the Cafe Hubraum. http://www.cafe-hubraum.de/ - The police would sit waiting for wild machines. They slapped a 30kph limit on and always had dB meters handy. Only a fool (or foreigner) went without dB killers in.

I've had the same comments from folk who say "Spanish Custom builders manage" - Not many of their bikes get used or the builder pays a small fortune to get it an SVA pass. But loud wont get an SVA - not now.

The Italians seem to have a good handle on pipes. They think of a design - find away to get it legal - and allow you a simple way to "risk it".
 
Was just going on all the radical custom V-Rods , V-Twins and Jap cruisers some of the German custom shops seem to knock out ... guess like a lot of customs they are not ridden all that much.
 
My old Vulcan 2000 was homologated with more than 100db, as it was a 2004 model. It was rather easy to slap on a Vance & Hines and just try to get through with its massive thunder. I got away, and finally sold the bike.

But my Roadster is a 2014, legal sound level is close to an e-bicycle. So it will definitely not be a Brute, I feel too old to avoid the street cops every day.
My current favs for actual use are Reband and Staintune. Barbagris' suggestion was interesting cause the Zard looks very good, but I will have to investigate on the hp output. In the end it's all about the power, you know...:sneaky:

@TOMCAT there are definitely a lot of folks here in Germany who take a "stripped" bike to inspection, then go home, remod and ride for the year taking their chances! As @barbagris says, DB is a big one here. Guess I'll be de-registering the street triple on Wednesday since it failed again (running arrow 3-1). Gonna ride the hell out of it this weekend!
 
Hello, happy to be here. I'm from Austria, Europe.

That means basically, if I pull the throttle for longer than two seconds, I will cross borders - either to Germany or to Hungary or Italy - depending on the direction. Preferrably Germany though, because of their Autobahn.

My current ride is a 2014 Rocket III Roadster, before I had a lot of other bikes, including a Vulcan 2000, a Hayabusa, a Valkyrie, a 1978 Goldwing, 1100 Katana, and other stuff.

Here the demon € mark is what matters. I generally run with Jardine Headers and Thugs. Free breathing and not too loud. But the ITV (TüV) want to see an € mark. So I'm refitting the original pipes for the ITV. When I had my 1998 Buell, that ran Vance and Hines at 111dB. in theory there was a 104dB limit for it - but the test guys looked the other way. iirc for the EU tests the limit is close to 81dB.

Well, I can go to Freyung (close to Vienna city center) in about 20 minutes from my house. But Vienna has almost 2 million people, so that doesn't necessarily mean we are relatives ;).
My great-grandfather loved big bikes already though. I got a 90 year old photo from him sitting on a surprisingly massive motorbike with friends. Maybe we share his heritage...
