Pull your oil filter also and cut it open to see what the paper element looks like. It there was a lot of dirt in the oil, the filter should have caught most of it unless it was so plugged it went into bypass.

I think it might be the torsional bearing starting to fail. See if you can get the rear wheel off the ground and rotate the wheel. If it's clicking that's your problem.
