T1000009 kit
Triumph Rocket 3 issues with kit bearings etc.
I have been dealing with this at 57,000k's just this week. Yes, its low mileage and yes the noise of this has been with this bike since about 2006. I brought it to Triumph's attention back then and they assured me that should the bike bearing ever fail they would replace it at no cost. Now that its about to, they Triumph Australia have backed out of the deal. Pissed off! The bike has low miles because I have many bikes. Yes, it’s now 12 years old but little use. Today Triumph Australia agreed to supply the Kit part number T1000009 at $500.00 and not cover ANY labour costs. (Told me the kit was worth $2600) (From another forum the kit contains: in the kit :
smaller detent arm
2´gear goes from 8 engaging dogs, to 4
Spark plugs changes from dpr8ea-9 to dpr7ea-9
new fuel sensor
new sealing washers for oil tank
new cam chain guide
plus some minor wiring work)
I am pretty pissed off that what was always said to me that would happen at their cost is now an issue. They also want me to drag the bike to one of their own dealers and ours up here on the coast has crap mechanics so it’s off to deal with Bike Biz in Sydney in the morning. We shall see how this goes. Shall stay in touch on this issue. Has anyone else been affected by this "recall" and how have Triumph handled it? Much appreciated.
