A few of us took the ride from Tucson up to the top of a nearby mountain, Mt Lemmon. You go from high 80s to the low 60s with snow still in the shady sides of the hills. A nice curvy mountain road. You can actually be from a thick stand of saguaro cactus into the starting of the pine forest in about 15 to 20 minutes. Views for miles and miles from the top of this "sky island". If you are ever in the area dont pass it up.
I did that ride a few years ago on Herman's '07 Classic; ate at the Sawmill I believe it is called. Had great spicy ribs. @TURBO200R4 What a great birthday surprise it was to have a buddy loan me a bike for a break on a work trip... He even loaded the bag with cold Dr. Pepper for me!!!
