Makes sense. No worries. And she is running really well. Just replaced the front springs with Hagons and it is really smooth and reacts much more quickly with counter steer. Almost like it lost 100lbs.

Because the thread is very short and easy to destroy.Do not overtighten under any circumstance.
When I went to change the oil,on my then low klm R3, someone had already stripped it and left it there for the next owner.
The dealer stripped it down and put a helicoil in there at a fairly reasonable price.

Yep. I don't use a torque wrench but just give it a "calibrated" soft snug with my wrench. Frankly; I'm amazed that the torque specification is so light with the bottom plug. I have two spare bottom drain plugs that I keep on hand, in the event I do screw the original up.
